Dear Friends and Family and Fellow Slackers!

Welcome to the new version of the AP forums, dedicated entirely to FFXIV. As many of you know, the game will be released sometime in 2010 and there are already plans to do the beta together, this will be the place coordinate our efforts meetings etc.

We wanted to keep the FFXI portion of the website alive, so that any of us who still play the game and wishes to use the old forums may continue to do so.

For FFXIV, Syrinx has decided to use Drupal and it ROCKS! We're still working on the graphic/looks part of it but everything is basically functioning the way it should. Your accounts have been imported from the old FFXI section so you can login using the same userid and password. If you are in AP and have not been given the AP permissions on the forum, poke either me, Debris or Syrinx and we'll do it asap!

Some spiffy things about the new site:
1. Your account is connected automatically to a blog, which in turn is automatically connected to the front page of the site. So instead of multiple blogs for different events/stories/users in other websites, we can host all of your FFXIV related items right here and available for all members to see without too much browsing.

2. Instead of separate accounts for the 'site' then the 'forum' it's all one big thing, so one userid and password will get you access to all tools available.

3. FFXIV auto news update, which rocks because now we can just accept feeds from other sites without bothering to keep up with it ourselves /snickers at pureslackeriness
